We Came in a Rocket Car!

You gotta love the technology industry vets with too much time and money on their hands! Paul Allen, of Microsoft fame, and his band of space cowboys just completed one of two flights today where a civilian built and flown rocket reached sub-orbital flight 63 miles above the Earth. In order to claim the coveted $10 million “X Prize”, the team has to complete a second trip within two weeks. Their next flight is scheduled for Monday.

I do wish them luck, and I think it’s remarkable that commercial space flight may be a reality in my lifetime. However, even more so, I’d like to see a cure for cancer in my lifetime. So, I’ll just state that when I have 10 million to burn, I will call it the “C Prize” and it will be awarded to the team that can demonstrate the reversal of the genetic mutation that leads to malignant tumors.
